To answer your question : It didn’t. I realize I am not the first to say this, but I am tired of insecure women saying that skinny girls are considered sexier than bigger girls. I am also tired of anyone who acts like we skinny girls are disgusting and don’t deserve to be called hot.
Average to over-weight women are always complaining that the media pressures them to become skinny, when I feel quite the opposite. As a someone who is thin, and therefore not significantly edowed I feel the pressure to gain weight. But only in one place.
This idea that being scary skinny is what attracts men is something they have created themselves. I can assure you, whenever Keira Knightley makes a “Hottest” or “Sexiest” list there is atleast one guy who talks about how with her flat ass and chest - no one would want her.
I’m not saying that some men don’t like skinny or small-chested women - but I am saying that the media pressures us to look like them, not the other way around.
Exhibit A) FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011
None of the females in the top row were listed in the Top Ten. While the Top Ten Women (including Megan Fox,& Rosie Huntington Whitely) were smaller sizes, none had cup sizes smaller than a large B. None of the women in the top row (aside from Heidi with her implants) are above a B cup.
Exhibit B) Men’s Health: Hottest Women of 2011
Christina Hendricks came in at #20
Beyonce at #19
and Jennifer Lawrence at #1
All of which are curvy women closer to the shapes of the women on the bottom row. None of the women of the top row placed.
Exhibit C) GQ’s Hottest Women of the Year (So Far)
Kim Kardashian #19
January Jones #12
Scarlett Johansson #10
Jennifer Lawrence #4
I liked this list the best because while it included the curvy women above, it did also include Kate Moss and Olivia Wilde (at healthy weights) Which gives me hope that I won’t see any more of this silly things because some men like big women, some men like small women and some like in between. Neither one is hotter than the other overall. GQ seems to understand this, so I hope everyone else follows their lead.
